Wood grain effect

Welcome Louisa here, today we are talking about wood grain (no jokes about a wood chuck please). I have been meaning to try this for a long time, try the begining to the year and have finally got round to it. I have also found designing masculine cards hard and thought this would be a good sart for this.

Left to right, white, slate, light brown and chocolate card stock.

I used some brown tones of  disress ink for this and I am very pleased with how them came out. This comes as a set of the mini ink pads and all the colours play very nicely together. Although I have used typical wood colours this would look equally fabulous in more bright colours so experiment. The key to this technique is to use a very light touch as you want the colour of the cardstock to show through.

The spacing of the scored lines and the size of the cardstock is adaptable as I have explained in the video.

For this I have used

Time Holts Distress Mini Ink Kits- Kit 3

the colour are antique linen (AL), vintage phote (VP), walnut stain (WS) and black soot (BS)

various shades of brown cardstock

light brown (Al +WS)

chocolate (AP + AL + BS)

slate colour (BS + VP)

white (AL +VP)

I must be off as the call of throwing away as balck bin bag of stuff is calling.
