Today I have a fun little card that I have named the Offset Gatefold Card because it is essential a gatefold card, but the flaps are not the same size. I think this gives the card an interesting visual element to them that makes them stand out. The great thing about this card apart from being very easy to make is that it works in either portrait or landscape, just make sure any pattern is going the right way.
This is a great way to use up small scraps of DSP and because of the layers on the card it lets the DSP be seen and hopefully admired. I used the much loved and elegant All my love DSP that is retiring soon and this has been one of my favourite DSP, more fabulous DSP to come in the new catalogue.
For the sample card I heat embossed the first card layer with our gold embossing paper (just the edges) as this tied in with the DSP pattern I used.
One of the colours in this paper is Lovely Lipstick so for the sentiment on the front of the card used the matching embossing powder, which I have had for about a year and never used. I used Whisper White for the card and one of the reasons was I thought I was out of Lovely Lipstick, one sheet was hiding at the bottom so I used it for a layer for the sentiment.
For the card on in the video I used Sahara Sand and Flirty Flamingo as again these are both colours in the DSP. I heat embossed the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo even though we don’t have an embossing powder in that colour but I how you how using our clear embossing powder. You will love the fine detail you will get with all of our powders.
